AWG (Arbitrary Waveform Generator) is widely used in modern electronic measurement. It is not only capable to generate all the regular waves as traditional function generators, but also capable to realize many other modulate approaches such as sweeping,frequency modulation,PSK,FSK,pulse modulation. Moreover, it can generate any kind of waves according to the requirement of clients, reproduce waves captured by DSO, imitate and replace waves that is from an uninstalled component or that is hard to be generated from components and sensors. Because it is user-friendly and flexible, this generator is widely used in electronic measurement, electronic engineering, mine exploration, medical science, vibrating analysis, faults analysis, and many other areas.This dissertation argues around the topic of"Design and Improvement of 500MSPS Arbitrary Waveform Generator sequence block and of wave generating block". It talks about how to realize the truly sequence generating function with DDWS technology, and provides a solution to improve the former design of high-speed wave generating block. Contents of this dissertation include:(1) Argues working principles of DDWS and DDFS and compares their technical features. 500MSPS Arbitrary Waveform Generator is designed with combined advantages of both.(2) Analysis the function and principle of sequence wave generating technology, and provides design and application approach.(3) High frequency sine wave (such as 180MHz,160MHz) generated by former design of 500MSPS Arbitrary Waveform Generator has aberration. This dissertation discusses cause of the situation and provides a solution.(4) Improve Burst modulation block in former 500MSPS Arbitrary Waveform Generator.(5) Improve the design of high-speed DAC reset.This dissertation also provides approach to test the sequent wave generating function of 500MSPS Arbitrary Waveform Generator. According to the test result, the Arbitrary Waveform Generator with sequene generating function meets the requirement of sample rate between 1Hz and 500MHz, and has realized other expected targets.
