Quality Management Research, Based On Process Control Of The Elevator Installation

Elevators belong to the special equipments of construction that have to obey national legislation. Different quality of the equipment installation always leads to the different whole operating performance, and sometime it will endanger the safety of life and property of the public. Therefore, enhancing the quality of elevator installation is a crucial way to ensure the good perfermance of elevator.Based on theories and methods of process quality control. the paper analyses and summarizes the main issues of the quality of elevator installation, combining with the engineering data from SIGMA Elevator Company, and refering to the quality management experience of the western developed elevator industry. The paper presents a concept that process quality reflects the quality of the whole project, and emphasizes the companies should enhance the process identification and quality control in the elevator installation. Firstly, the paper introduces the process control into the three stages of the construction project: input, output and implementation stages respectively, and describes process control contents of the various stages. Then, quality control points for the elevator installation are identified and key precesses are found. Finally, this paper analyses the causes of main problems on the quality of elevator installation from five aspects: man, machine, material, method and environment, and provides the proper measures for improvement and development by using the Pareto diagram and the cause and effect diagram, and by examples and experience analysis.With regard to describing the installation of elevators in three phases, especialy the key processes and quality control points, as well as the analysis for the causes of main quality problem, it will take practical value to improve the quality for the installation of the elevator industry.
