The force gauge is a portable,multi-function,high-precision gauge instrument for measurement of the both compressive and tensile forces。At present, Japanese product is the best one in the domestic market of force gauge and the American product is the second. But the performace of Chinese product in this area is not as good as foreign products. Most people rely on the imports of the force gauge to meet their needs, which are very expensive. So we need our own products. The purpose of the project is to develop the force gauge system which is composed of a force gauge and a data processing system.The paper analyzes the working principle of the force gauge, takes the accuracy into consideration and designs the circuit of the force gauge with MSP430F427 as the core. In the circuit, the sensor collects the signal and uses the amplifier to amplify it. Then the AD Converter in MSP430F427 converts the analog signal to digital signal. At last, the result is transmitted to the LCD to display. In addition, the paper introduces the principle and the application of the 3-points calibration which is used to calibrate the force gauge when produced.Secondly, the paper introduces the pins, communication protocol and the clock of the Digimatic interface and designs a program to print data on the MSP2.It is necessary to make a simple and effective communication protocol to confirm the communication between the force gauge and computer. The protocol defines the data frame and response protocol. In the end, the paper introduces the design and implement of the data processing system which is consisted of logon, serial port communication, data processing, calibration modules. Of the four modules, data processing is the core module, which is a typical unit to process the data flow.So we choose the Pipes and Filters pattern to design the module. In the end, we test the force gauge system which is used as product, and make an evaluation of the system based on the test results and the suggestion from users.
