Phase-splitter is exited at intervals 20-30km in AC electric railway. Electrolocomotive going through phase-splitter reliably is always a problem to be solved. Electrolocomotive automatic going through phase-splitter not only reduce the driver's labor, but also improve the speed of electrolocomotive. At present the project of automatic phase-splitter has the following: "on-body automatic convert", "on-Pole automatic convert", and "ground automatic convert". As above convert methods, the ground automatic convert method is elected, which results in little losing speed and little losing traction .The ground automatic convert method is mainly discussed in the paper. A new method of the ground automatic convert is brought in this paper because of some detects of the method at present. The voltage of catenary systems is fallen through single-phase transformer, and two phases switch through thyristors, and the voltage of catenary systems is raised primary level through single-phase transformer in the new method. The merit of this method is that the question of over-voltage and over-current is resolved, which are brought by using vacuum switch, and low reliability, which is produced by directly using thyristors. The theory of ground automatic convert method is detailed in the paper, is analyzed how to select capacity of thyristors and transformers, and analyzed process of turning off thyristors. The time in reason of turning off and closing of thyristor is given by explaining it. It can reduce over-voltage and over-current.On the basis of above works the author designs the control system, every part of control system is detailed, reason of over-voltage and over-current about thyristors is analyzed, and a method to solve them is taken. PLC is used for controller of control system. Control thought of all the control system is explained by the author. The feasibility of the method is proved by in theory. And a good basis for future research is made in this paper.
