Urban Open Space Design Strategy Study

Along with the development of the economy and the progress of the society, how to promote the quality of urban open space have increasingly caused people's extensive concern. But now in our country the fact is that lots of outer space designers neglect the sense of place, leading to the environment landscape establishment considered humanistic less than enough, and the scenery of city's landscape tends to be similar. For this reason, believes it will be a thriving issue about the further study of urban open space, which has the great significance.This article focuses on the open spaces in the city. To link to the open space's conceptual developing, the theoretical studying, the evaluation and appreciation, the actuality of the open space system in Beijing city and the design policy, this paper focuses on the characteristics and the space quality about two or three typical open space cases in Beijing, and builds a framework on studying the problems about this spaces based on lots of investigation and analysis work. Then this paper tried to find a way about the design strategy to help the situation improved. The author hopes that this article could make some helpful reference to the open space design practice, which focuses on those typical open space cases in the centre of the Beijing city.
