China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR), a cooled and moderated by light water, reflected by heavy water, inverse neutron trap reactor, is being constructed in China Institute of Atomic Energy in 21st Century. High flux neutron can be educed from the core, so CARR can meet the need of preceding basic research, e.g. neutron scattering experiment, and the need of the nuclear industry, national defense, and Country economy. The main technical indexes of CARR can attain the advanced level in the world.The ventilation and air-conditional supervising and control system is an important part of the reactor supervising and control system. The ventilation and air-conditional system that be supervised and controlled is used to filtrate the radioactivity discharged air, so it's crucial to the environment safety. By manual/automatic control the ventilators and intakes, the supervising and control system achieve manual/automatic control to the reactor building and supervision of every facility's running state.The ventilation and air-conditional supervising and control system is a distributed control system. It used Quantum series PLC to supervise and control and communicate with the servers by fiber network. The servers storage data and run the database. The operator stations run the Human-Machine Interface picture to achieve real time control.The ventilation and air-conditional supervising and control system of CARR adopts totally digital supervision and control, it's the first time to be used in research reactor in our country. It ensures its stability and reliability by choosing high quality hardware and software and adopting proper redundancy method. It has friendly Human-Machine Interface and adopts proper security method, so all these will make operation safer and more reliable and relieve labour intensities.The ventilation and air-conditional supervising and control system of CARR found a solid basis for the future stable operation of CARR, and the implementation of the system promotes the application of digital control technology in reactors in China.
