Over the years, because of the quality, working conditions, corrosion, misoperation and other factors, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) spherical tank often have accidents occurred. This causes severe damages to the production and national economy and very bad social influences. Along with the rapid economic growth, China's got a great demand for energy. As a source of clean, efficient, cheap energy, in the coming period LPG will have a significant development. So it gives the LPG Tank's reliability, safety, risk and the economic greater challenges, and the reliability analysis and management of the equipments are urgently needed.In this paper, the modern management theory (RCM) and scientific management decisions are applied. Combining the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the reliability, LPG spherical tank of reliability management in a more systematic and depth study is made from the reality. The principal elements are as follows:1. The need for the reliability management of LPG spherical tank equipment is discussed. The modern equipment management theory and reliability analysis method are summarized. And it emphasizes the reliability-centered maintenance--RCM and its applications.2. The main factors that influencing spherical tank safe and reliable operation are summarized The LPG spherical tank's failure is caused by many factors. And the factors are in a distinction between different weights, so it is difficult for the reasonable distribution of the characteristics. According this, the paper uses fuzzy theory of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of its multi-level, and a more realistic evaluation of the established quantitative analysis is got.3. The reliability LPG Tank reliability based on the fault tree analysis. The fault tree of LPG spherical tank failure is built. First, the qualitative analysis for the fault tree analysis is made, and the minimal cut sets are got. So we can identify the main factors and root causes that cause the failure of the LPG tank. On the basis of the qualitative analysis, the reliability of a spherical tank probability model and the fault tree analysis are made.4. The paper uses fracture mechanics theory and studies the mechanism that corrosion, cracks and other defects performance the LPG tank security. Then the corresponding detailed prevention and protection measures are given. This perfects the reliability of the spherical tank corrosion management and provides the theoretical support.5. Based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of LPG spherical tank on the previous chapters, according as RCM theory, the paper analyses and studies the spherical tank design selection, use and maintenance, as well as fire safety and other aspects. Combined the facts, that how to enhance the reliability of the entire integrated management and maintenance is discussed in the paper.
