The production of crane in harbor is based on the typical Customer-Oriented model. Because the designs of this kind of product are almost aberration designs, masse of design knowledge and experience is needed to use for reference. The designers always reuse, inherit and revise the history design to produce a brand new design. Therefore, we could adopt the Case-Based Reasoning of Mass Customization in the course of the designing and configuration. So, we can effectively use the history design and experience, thus massive nonessential repetitions of design can be reduced, that can help to greatly enhances efficiency and accuracy of design.This paper will thoroughly analyze structure essence of the configuration model at the point of its structure and expression method, tallying with the structure of the product-container crane's gantry, propose the Class-and-Features-based Product Configuration model. We abstract the composition elements in each part layer as element class of each level, which realize the different functions. And we also correspondingly abstract different structure which realizes some function as child-element class. Organizing the model by form of class and child class, the process of modeling can fit in the thought of software development. With the encapsulation of class and the establishing of relations between two classes, we can combine modeling method with software realization perfectly, the configuration model in this way can support the softwaring well with good model organizational structure.Class-and-Features-based Product Configuration , integrated with Case-Based Reasoning, can effectively provide the designer a rapid prototype to respond to customer's demands. To choose the set of features which has the significant influence on the configuration result, this paper will introduce and apply the knowledge of reduct on Rough Set field. By this way, we can avoid blindness of human when we set the weights as well. According to the characteristic of level structure, we will apply similarity measure method to appraise the similarity between the two cases.The system in this paper will use the further development kit-Pro/TOOLKIT provided by Pro/E, to link the application program to Pro/E ,thus we can embed the product configuration design system of systems in Pro/E environment. With the 3D design and configuration design integrated in a system, the complexity of the product designer can be greatly reduced.
