Maple Ridge Power Plant Excitation System Transformation Research

This article is aimed for the improvement of the enterprise technology.Excitation controlling system is one of the most important parts of the power plant. It is of great importance to the safe and steady operation of the power system. The article, firstly, starts with the designing choice of excitation system in Fengshuling Power Plant, then analyzes and studies the existing problems in the operating process and finally describes the demands, which are proposed by the social economy and the technological development, on respective capabilities of the excitation system.According to the problems in the operating process, and on the conditions of deep research and analysis, some designing schemes for choices are proposed to suit for the improvement of the Fengshuling Power Plant excitation system. By model parameters simulation of excitation system and PSS, the excitation system AVR test and switching test of PSS at the locale, we can conclude that in this project a mathematical model of excitation system parameters adopted have higher credibility. The dynamic behavior of the generators and excitation system can be actually described, it can be used as the basis for calculation.The original existing problems of the excitation system has been dealt with according to the general controlling aims and demands of the water power plant. Meanwhile, the article describes the tests of every procedure and the task of conducting parameter carefully. Thus, the previous existing unsafe factors have been got rid of, and some functions which cannot adapt to development of the electricity net have been improved. In other words, the adjusting controlling capacity has been enhanced and the parameter testing on the spot has been optimized.The excitation system improvement of The No.1 electricity producing unit in Fengshuling Power Plant is practical. The improved excitation system is much better than the original in all aspects. The scheme in this article has a guiding effect on enhancing the producing unit's economic profits, safe operating level and the stability of the whole system. Therefore, it's said that the achievement by the improvement of technology is obvious.
