Hydroelectricity is the main clean energy at present in China. With the development of Hydro turbine-generator to higher parameter, condition based maintenance aimed at improving the reliability of Hydro turbine-generators and economic benefits becomes more and more important. However, at present, the domestic monitoring and diagnosis system doesn t have its own information standards, it is difficult to realize the standardization of state monitoring and data management. In order to make the equipment and the parameter unified management to help online-monitoring system of computer more intelligent analysis the parameters of equipment, this paper is to explore the establishment of a set of suitable equipment coding and its status number method as the research object.The study bases on HOMIS, which has a lot of data about Gezhouba power plant and valuable experience since have been put into operation. Rotor system in Gezhouba power plant has been chosen to verify the feasibility.Firstly, considering the actual circumstance of the Hydro turbine-generator, the characteristics and deficiencies of the power plant identification systems are analyzed and researched based on the analysis of the power plant identification system domestically and abroad. Secondly, based on the KKS identification system, combined with some main characteristics of the rotor system, the paper institutes coding rules for the equipments of hydropower plant. Thirdly, based on the relationship between the equipment state and its own characteristics, a series of numbering rules for the parameters is developed. Finally the study summarizes a coding scheme and apply it to the rotor system of Gezhouba power plant as an example.
