The qualityof the bore is the key factor that can affect the main tactical techno-guideline, such as theprecision of the gun,preliminary speed,firing rate,life. And at the same time it relatesto the safety and dependability of the whole weapon system in using. It is the importantartifice to guarantee the producing quality of the minor-caliber guns and to be used safelythat the exterior quality disfigurement of the bore is inspected. In home this inspectionis done by the naked eye to qualitatively observe through the traditional instrument. Thismeasure cannot inspect quantificationally, with the low exact rate and the low efficiency,and the result of the inspecting is affected by the experience and the morality of theinspector. In this paper the author have researched a new automatic inspection method thatcan inspect exterior quality of the bore in the 25mm caliber guns with the technique ofapplying the advancing CCD,digital image process and the computer. The abbreviatedindustrial CCD is used to get the clear digital image and show it in the computer monitorfor the inspector to distinguish. And the inspector can calculate the bad area through thearithmetic of the digital image processing. It is implemented that the exterior quality of thebore in minor-caliber guns is inspect qualitatively and quantificationally. The data andimage of inspecting can be show,storage and print at the present.The investigation and exploitation of the system not only supervises and acceleratesthe minor-caliber guns machining,quality controlling in produce and increasing theproducing efficiency but also advances the maintain of the gun and precision in shooting. Ithas tremendous benefit of the military affairs and economy.
