Heavy efficiency motor is an important power equipment and auxiliary equipment, which critic part includes base ,stator and rotor. Heavy vertical motor is easy to be damaged because of absence of strength, stiffness and vibration due to its structure and force. Thus, the analysis and optimization of structure are an important part of motor designing. In this paper, motor structure is researched by combing experiment study with simuliation. Using 3D CAD, virtual prototype and FEM, kinematics, static and modal simulation are conducted. In the end, modal experiment and strain testing are implied. Further, the motor's structure is optimized. The main content includes:(1) The motor's integral entity model is established by Pro/Engineer;(2) The motor's virtual prototyping is established and kinematical simulation is carried out using FEM software, MSC.visualNastran. Based on the simulation, the force of bear is verified;(3) The static simulation of base and rotor are carried out considering all kind of forces, the stress intensity and deformation are obtained and proved;(4) Based on the integral 3D model , the natural frequencies and corresponding vibration modals of the base and rotor are obtained by performing modal analysis;(5) Static strain testing and modal experiment are done, the virtual prototyping and simulation are proved;(6)The motor structure is optimized to simplify polytechnic keeping constant of efficiency and magnetic options; The experiment results and simulation indicate that the current motor has the right strength, stiffness and vibration, but not enough. The dangerous place is upper bracket and the part of coupling for rotor. and the connection reliability of foundation screws impacts the motor's vibration characteristic.
