The research and development of Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricks which took full advantage of the natural waste material, the Yellow River silt, can not only clean up the Yellow River silt, but also provide a new outlet for the wall material innovation. Our research group has already accomplished an experimental study of the physical behavior of this material and the fundamental mechanical behavior of the bricks at present. Meanwhile, we have conducted a theoretical research of seismic behavior and whole mechanical behavior of Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricks on the basis of research. However, the behaviors of the Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricks in actual situation are not clear and there is no interrelated test data. Therefore, this paper, based on foregone experiments, carried on an experimental study of the whole mechanical behavior of the Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricking structure. The main researches include as follows:(1)Apply the method of orthogonal experiments to design the compression test of middle pillar made of Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricks. Through the analysis of the experimental results, discuss the major and minor relationships between the factors of influence on compressive bearing capacity and deformation behavior as well as the objective influential tendency;(2)Through experiment investigation and analysis of test data, compare the difference between the Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricks and solid clay bricks, including the formation and development of crack, failure form, cracking strength and supporting capacity;(3)Explore the failure mechanism of the cellular bricks under compression and, considering the factors to influence the bearing capacity of solid clay bricks, analyze the factors of influence on the compressive bearing capacity of Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricks. Use the formula in the code to calculate the bearing capacity of the axis and that of eccentric compression concerning Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricks and conduct the compression and analysis of experimental results.The experimental study on the behavior of the Yellow River silt bearing cellular bricks can not only help us know the deformability and bearing capacity of Yellow River silt bearing cellular structures in actual situation, but also promote the wide use of the Yellow River silt bearing porous bricks and as a result it can provide experimental basis for some relative technique regulations.
