Capital Construction Project Quality Control

Quality is the mark for the civilization of mankind. The quality of constructionprojects is extremely important to the safety of people's life and wealth and to thereputation of our nation. The quality of construction projects in colleges is also of greatimportance to the safety of staff as well as students and the quality of teaching activities.Firstly, quality characteristics of construction projects in colleges are analyzed and thekey points to the quality management and control of construction projects are discussed inthis paper. Secondly, from the viewpoint of the employer, the paper explores the influence,responsibilities and functions of the main body, including the constructor, the design andsurvey institution and the construction supervising unit, at each phase of the projectconstruction are analyzed respectively. Thirdly, the contents for the quality control, towhich the employer should pay attention during each phase, namely design phase,implement phase and use phase, are described. And the effective methods and measures forquality control and management are pointed out by analyzing the factors that may affectthe quality of construction projects.On the basis of the personal practice and experience during the construction of studentdormitory in Huaihai Institute of Technology, the author puts forward some original ideasand creative methods for quality control and management of construction projects incolleges through analyzing the factors, such as project organization structure, constructor(especially project manager) and supplier choice, equipment and material as well asconstruction techniques. After analyzing the normal comprehensive bid evaluation method,which is widely adopted, a new comprehensive evaluation model suitable for colleges'construction projects is proposed. On the basis of similar evaluation items, the AnalyticHierarchy Process (AHP) Bid Evaluation model is established, which offers the theoreticalbasis for bid evaluation method in terms of colleges' construction projects. Finally, thedeveloping trend of quality management for construction projects in the future is shown.
