Membrane structure is an innovation spatial structure with bright prospect in recent decades, which is composed of membrane materials, cables and supported components, and is adored by most of the architects all over the world for its special elegant sculpts and the power of tensioned force, for its lightness, beauty, rapidly constructed and biggish span. However, as a new form of structure, the membrane structure is so far different from the traditional one in the conception and method of design.The design of membrane structure includes three processes commonly: form-finding, loading analysis and cutting pattern generation. In these processes loading analysis is key, which not only tests the result of the membrane form-finding but also provides a reassuring guarantee for subsequent cutting pattern generation. There are three methods for loading analysis: nonlinear finite element method, dynamic relaxation method and density method. This paper calculates and analyzes structure behaviors and mechanical behavior of three kinds of membrane structures which separately is points supporting membrane structure, rigid framework membrane structure and rigid boundary closed membrane structure.The paper puts forward loading analysis method which is based on finite element and considers membrane's supporting system. According to the principle of the virtual displacement, the paper educes elements' mechanics pattern of cable, pole, membrane and beam of cable-membrane system. Because of the membrane with high geometric nonlinear property, the nonlinear of beam element is especially considered. After equations of the integrated models are combined, Newton-Raphson method is utilized for calculation, and at last the analysis of integrated model is achieved in theory.By loading analysis method put forward by author, the paper inspects "shape" and "state" which is the result of form-finding in advance, approaches the concept design of the new spatial structure—membrane structure through the study of geometry structure and form of the three kind of structure, and represents an idea of the combined of architecture and structure.The paper analysis the three kinds of membrane structure by program ANSYS, according to limit state theory calculates the stress, inner force and deformation of the three structures under five load combinations, which contain wind load and snow load, approaches the law of bearing and deformation of every structure. Finally the paper summarizes every structure in the light of the calculation and presents the three structures' characteristics and some issues, and provides some experiences for the design and construction of projects in future.The paper searches after the means of the calculation of the integrated model of membrane structure, supplies some tips for analysis by program ANSYS to solve some problems which are frequently encountered in ANSYS. Furthermore, some useful proposes were put forward by the author, which will be greatly helpful for the efficiency and convergence of the calculation.
