With the strong development of the international shipping transport, port machines have brought forward the higher requirement of the skill of machine operator. Thus, It is highly necessary to work on a port crane training simulator and develop skilled operator. Although the training simulator developed by SMU is gradually improved in function from 2000 yrs, the communication of data often has some problems with the real-time function and complexity by using PCI data acquisition card. Because of this, with the development of embed system, this paper will design a new embedded intelligent interface system based on ARM embedded system to effectively settle the existing problem.The main research work of this paper is as followed:1. By analyzing the availability and advantage of the embedded system, the method of intelligent interface system is brought up based on embedded ARM system and CPLD. And by this method, the problem existing in interface system of original simulator can be solved.2. The hardware design of the embedded interface system is worked out. and its relevant function is realized. and designed its corresponding principle drawing. The hardware system mainly includes these parts: FLASH memory system, serials and audio as well as Ethernet.3. The software design and function of the interface system is completed in following ways: Analyzing the startup process of Boot Rom to construct a Boot Loader; Realizing the programming of Flash and receiving as well as transmitting of Series; Compiling the AC'97 codec drive program to play and record wave which is sampled by 22khz from stereo channels. and the ethereal driver and program which including UDP, ARP, ICMP protocol parsing is done to finish the download of wave data and the communication between interface and remote system through UDP protocol on the basis of analyzing the Ethernet controller of EP9312.4. Finally, the hardware and software of the interface system are integrated. According to the actual operating condition of training simulator, the corresponding verification is done and the result of verification is analyzed. Some conclusions are obtainedThe intelligent interface system can complete the communication of data effectively and can be served as a simulating sound system as well, which can provide a new way for solving the problem of interface communication and other extending function in training simulator.
