The airbrone fire control radar is the most important component in electronic system of fighter plane. Its techniques are the most complicate in the field of radar research. There have two generation products in my country. And the phased array radar of airbrone fire control radar is the third genneration product. The phased array radar's application is restricted by small-sized and low-cost T/R module. Now it is emphasis that developing passive phased array radar in the field of airborne fire control radar. The anrenna of passive phased array radar is made up Of a lot of phase-shifters. The ferrite material used in phase-shifter is affected strongly by temperature. So it is necessary to make the phase-shifter running normally through thermal design. The thermal design of phase-shifter and antenna framework is discussed according to environment and operating parameter of phased array antenna in this paper. The course of analysis and design is based on module TMG and ESC in IDEAS, an integrated engineering software of CAD/CAE/CAM/CAT.The project belongs to engineering thermal design. It is objective that the instrument can work normally in operating enviroment and the thermal system has lower structure weight. The work of thermal design starts from selecting reasonale path in which the thermal current can be gotten out rapidly and selecting forced air-cooling in antenna framework, because the quantity of phase-shifter in antenna is great. After I-DEAS simulation, it is effective solution that partly filling in phase-shifter, outline of framework's inner surface and suitable fan.Firstly the background of research is introduced. And the theory and methods of thermal analysis are studied. The technology feature and the way of achievement of software I-DEAS are told. Then using an unstable method measures thermal conductivity of some ferrite material which is used in phase-shifter. At last structural design of phase-shifter and antenna framework is illustrated detailly from modeling and simulating with I-DEAS software.
