In this dissertation, the suspension theory has been researched and the suspension calculating software has been compiled in Visual Basic language. The software can calculate the stiffness of the different springs easily.In this dissertation, the automobile vibration theory is studied too. Basing on the MATLAB and the Visual Basic language, the six-freedom automobile vibration model is built up, and the simulation software is compiled. Using this software and the report of vehicle test, the matching of stiffness and damp is studied basing on the A model of a light bus. When the rear suspension of the A model vehicle is changed from five flake leaf-spring to seven flake leaf-spring, three different damps are used to match the rear suspension. The result shows that ride comfort of the A model vehicle is good with a damping which the relative damp coefficient is 0.1046. In this dissertation, the software is also used in the process of amelioration of the B model of a light bus. By increasing the stiffness of the leaf-spring, the dependability of suspension is improved, and the ride comfort is also satisfied. According to the study, the test result and result of simulation fit to each other quite well, the software of simulation can be used in forecasting and analysing the ride comfort of vehicle.
