The measures of testing digital systems are becoming more and more complex, with the development of complex digital systems. In traditional measures, digital signal generators are used for generating impulses, and logic analyzers are used for accepting responses. But it's very difficult to make the digital signal generators and the logic analyzers cooperating well with each other. Modern automatic test systems need more powerful high-speed digital test instruments. BCVX6420 provides 64 channels for test interface, and it's very suitable for fault diagnosis of complex digital systems.The key point of this dissertation is on the design of BCVX6420 function module. I have accomplished the work as follows.· The principle, which the function design should be obeyed, has been brought forward and the main structure of logic has been marked out.· Based on the feature that the test instruments should support complex logic testing, the basic methods for designing functions such as real-time compare, real-time branch jump, pause, have been concluded. According to the methods, the application field of the BCVX6420 can be extended largely.· The using of modern design methods and modern analysis methods makes the design flow and implement flow more rational, and makes the BCVX6420 more stable and reliable.· Compared with the only manufacture--Tektronix VXI 4820, manufactured byTektronix in the year of 1997, BCVX6420 have the similar functions. In some aspect, such as the frequency of interface clock, the step of internal clock, the distance of jump code, the depth of memory, BCVX6420 has much more higher performance than Tektronix VXI 4820.
