In order to improve the reliability of AMB digital controller and resolve hardware errors of signal input and output system, research on reliable design of hardware was done in this paper. A digital controller based on TMS320VC33 DSP and EP1C6T144C8 FPGA was designed. In this controller, DSP concentrated on algorithms, FPGA was in charge of the controlling and fault detection and solation of signal input and output system. This controller had a high reliable signal input and output system based on hardware redundancy. The signal input module realized fault detection by taking a sample of the precision voltage reference, and the signal output module realized it by converting a fixed value and sampling the output of D/A converter. Fault solation was actualized by replacing the control signal of fault module with spare module.Experiments was also done in this paper, the five-degree freedom magnetic rotor was suspended stably and rotated at a speed of 30000r/min with all performance indicators reached by using this controller. On this basis, reliability testing of signal input and output system was completed. The signal input module actualized fault detection and solation with a speed of 30000r/min without instability and oscillations. And the signal output module actualized boot fault detection and isolation successfully. All the experiments above proved that the fault detection and isolation module of signal input and output system had a high accuracy, reliability and without any misjudging. So the reliability of the control system had been enhanced by using the digital controller designed in this paper.
