Design And Development Of Bridge Deck Waterproofing Layer Tester

The aim of setting waterproof layer on bridge decks is to improve the endurance of bridges. At the process of building waterproof layer, the misconduct of bridge decks or the unqualified construction will lead to the decline of the binding power between the waterproof layer and concrete decks.Therefore, in order to discover weak parts and implement repairing, it is necessary to test the gluing performance between layers after construction. According to practical application in project, a series of instruments to test the quality of waterproof material, including electric shear instrument, pulling instrument and peeling instrument, are suggested in this paper. The instruments consist of the mechanical system and the data acquisition system. The structure and the working process of the mechanical system are explained briefly in this paper, and the developing of the data acquisition system is introduced in detail.Referring to the characters of intelligent instrument and virtual instrument, based on MSP430 microcontroller and USB (Universal Serial Bus), a faster and Real-time proposal for data acquisition is suggested in the data acquisition system. The design of hardware and software of the data acquisition card, the developing of USB driver and the application of computer are explained in detail. The design of the data acquisition card includes power supply module, USB interface, step motor driver, analog-digital conversion, signal adjusting, digital filter, serial communication, nixie tube display and anti-interference technology etc. The whole process of data acquisition, including the beginning and stop of data acquisition, Real-time display, data process, data storage and print, is controlled by the software on computer.After the waterproof testing instrument is put into use, the performance of the data acquisition system is satisfied. It can offer reliable experimental data for the researchers. For the sake of improving the system's performance, several improving schemes are brought forward.
