Highway Monitoring System And Traffic Control Strategies

Along with the economic development and the social progress, the necessity for expressway transport raised very rapidly. Traffic congestion is becoming more serious day by day, which leads to frequent accidents. It has long been a dilemma to solve such a problem disturbing people. As a part of the intelligent transportation system, expressway monitoring system provides a feasible scheme to solve such a bother.This article, by studying the traffic flow model of expressway, expounds relationship between traffic characters and every traffic parameters, establishing a base on which design and development of monitoring system can be made. While analyzing objective and function and expressway monitoring system, the requirement of the functions and structural composition of the system was determined. The article also studies the normal controlling strategy, and makes comparison of different controlling strategies.Based on the above conception, the article makes an in-depth study of the systematical component, requirement of the functions, arrangement scheme of site equipment and option of equipment of Yumenkou-Yanliang Expressway monitoring system, and makes analysis of characters of various controlling strategies for expressway, while putting forward suggestions for the controlling strategy of Yumenkou-Yanliang Expressway.
