In this paper, the development of the form of railway transport vehicle is summarized firstly. Then the variational process of the form of modern rail transport vehicle is analyzed with the transform of the traction. And the development of the vehicle shape (interior and exterior) is also analyzed, based on the progress of science and technology and the import of industrial design conception. According to the above aspects, the principle and technical demand on the form design of High-speed train are put forward.The development of the form of High-speed train must depend on Computer Aided Styling. Based on the research into the theory foundation and the characteristic of CAS software seriously, the design means of the form of High-speed train by the general CAS software are discussed. Thereinto, emphatically, how to make the wire frame modeling of the complicated free surface and how to make the surface modeling and how to examine the quality of surfaces are researched. What is more, the design nodus in the complicated free surface design with CAS technology is settled preferably.At last, the high-speed tour train is chosen as the design subject in this paper. The first step is to analyse the marketplace of the tour train home and abroad. Then a sort of high-speed tour train is schemed out based on the advisement synthetically on the trends and design principle to railway transport vehicle. In this design practice, the theory and method of industrial design are adopted, and the culture topic is the sea. This train has many ascendant characters such as novel appearance, outstanding style and delightful surroundings. In addition, for giving prominence to the topic in the appearance, inner equipment and ornament design process, the bionic design method is used.It is very important for the design and development of the new products of railway transport vehicle to do design with the idea of industrial design. It's expected that this preliminary study and attemptcould contribute to the development of the form of railway transport vehicle in our country.
