Based On Traffic Safety, West Of Highway Alignment Design Standards

Safety is one of the goals of geometric design of road alignment. The paper discuss about the affection theory by alignment feature to traffic safety within road factors which based on the research result of road traffic system by researchers domestic and aboard. Put forward that the road alignment index is relatively lower in general, which caused by physical geography, traffic composition, ecology environment factors and so on, by the investigation of high rank road alignment main technology index on built and building highway in west of China, however, the lower alignment index and its composition can easily form the black spot, can not content the requirement of traffic safely. To this, the paper propose that road alignment design based on traffic safety of west of China are taking measures suited to local conditions, proceed from actual conditions and adjust feasibly technology index according to the actual conditions of that region. To this guiding ideology, it puts forward the six mainly concerned principle of the road alignment design in west China, and analyses the flexible complication of straight length, curve radius, visual distance, longitudinal grade, grade length, grade climbing lane, avoid danger lane and other indexes of the road alignment design in west China, and put forward recommendation suggestion, research result have feasible practicability strongly. More than this, the paper point out that is necessary to consider fully the safety in road alignment design by two sides of improving evaluation system and method, so propose the tentative idea of setting up the evaluation system of road safety and the continuing evaluation method of road safety based on trace method or moving speed, expect to build evaluation system of road safety in west China and even the whole nation.
