Traffic safety in highway alignment effects are geometric characteristics of one of the most important and, therefore, analyses their impact on traffic safety in the design phase, evaluate its design safety, for the prevention of traffic accidents occur, improving the overall security level of the highway, is of great significance.Papers will be widely applied to structural engineering reliability theory in the introduction to the design of highway route in safety analysis. First of all, proceeding from the highway traffic safety situation, analysis of the geometric non-linear effect on traffic safety, pointed out that the road conditions on traffic accident of geometry alignment mechanism. And then, applying the theory of reliability indexes of reliability analysis of highway route design, by calculating the parameters of Highway alignment design safety reliability index and probability of failure under ultimate state, proposed a theory based on reliability of highway safety design geometric alignment method.Specific content as follows:(1) The road traffic accident based on statistical data, the thorough research and analysis road plane curve radius, driving stadia and vertical curve radius of geometric elements the influence of the traffic safety.(2) Structural engineering reliability theory in the introduction to the security in the design of highway route, using a second-order moment method for failure probability calculation of linear design parameters, proposed a theory based on reliability design of driving range selection standards, and running speed test coordination of horizontal curve radius of safety design selection range.Thesis research was on the "people-oriented, safety first" highway safety design of the inheritance and development of new ideas, as well as to supplement and improve the method of safety evaluation of Highway alignment, highway safety research results for guidance design have theoretical meaning and practical application of value.
