City Busway System Design Methodology Research

With being accepted of "bus priority", as the main carrier of "bus priority", The public transportation lane system is brought into schedule naturally. According to different space that buses run, the thesis divide the system into three parts: bus lane, bus stop and bus exclusive approach, which structure the frame of the thesis, and the design of them is the emphasis of the study.About the design method of the lane, is on the basis of structuring the design method of bus lane, this text studied the lay conditions, lay position , lane width , isolate design , and the appearance of lane. Through analysising the indexes that influence the bus lane position are chosen , studied the performance and suitability of three kinds of bus lane , have offered the theoretical foundation for choice of the position of bus lane; Analyzed and compared the time that passengers spend on bus before or after the bus lane was set, which offered the theoretical foundation for the feasibility and implementation benefit of bus lane's design.About the stopping design of bus stop, this chapter defined the study contents at first, through analyzing the factors that influenced the stop position, set up the standard of choosing in stop position; Through the analysis to the dynamic course that bus enter and leave stop , according to the different length that buses access the different form platforms, we have classified the stops into three kinds(linear platform, harbour platform and sawtooth platform); At the same time, according to the dynamic course of bus accessing the stop, we have confirmed the lengths of three kinds of platforms respectively through studying the single platform; Through the analysis to the influence factors of waiting area in the platform, the study has proposed the width computing technologies of the island type platform and side type platform; Through the analysis to the effective berth, the stop ability of platform has been studied.About crossing treatment, In this paper, one kind of road crossing design, indented bus priority approach, was analyzed. On the basis of the study of its operational principle, the author discussed the setting conditions, the design of signal and then-relevant parameters, and developed evaluation method for the indented bus priority approach, which is based on the difference in delays of bus and non-priority vehicles.
