Special Military Geography Database Engine Research And Practice

Special database is playing a more and more critical role in the military campaign for the broadly use of MGIS. It refers to some manipulations to the special basic database such as fetching storing, management, querying and so on. The research and development of SMDE (Special Military Geographic Database Engine) are just under that background. The paper discusses several problems based upon SMDE, and do some research on data model spatial index structure, system designings and the process of exploiture.At first, for data model, it introduced several common data model and analyzed their priorities and shortage, and through experiment, it brings forward a high efficient data model. Secondly, for data index, the paper concluded some advanced method, emphasized the importance of data index in the development of database system. Also, in view of model character of thematic database, the paper stressed the mode of multistage grid index. On the aspect of system design, the paper involve function design and net transport design, and it emphases on several critical point encountered in the design process. In the part of system realization, the paper introduced the environment of programming and the application interface of database, as well, it analyzed and displayed the product.Ultimately, the paper concluded the work which has been done before, and bring forward assume for the next step.
