Linear motors drive equipment directly, omit the mechanical conversion, and completely eliminate the physical limits of speed and acceleration of mechanical transmission. Linear motor have advantages in long journey, low customary volume, high-precision, fast response and high speed, and other characteristics. In the mid-1990s, the direct-drive technology in the field of ultra-precision positioning widely applied, attracted a growing number of research institutions and personnel into this area.Permanent magnetic linear synchronous motor (PMLSM), have advantages in high efficient, large export moment, small and easy to control advantages, thus greatly enhancing the system's rapid response to the chin and precision movement. It is a new generation of ultra-precision machine tools, most of the technology. Permanent magnetic linear synchronous servo system will be the development of the electrical current and future applications of a linear motor.This paper designed a control system on permanent magnetic linear synchronous motor.At first, the paper give a introduction to the structure ,basic theory and the control method of PMLSM. And also the difficulty of control system is discussed in this paper. The control system is designed to conquer this difficulty. Then position detection technology, hardware and software system design is discussed.The initial position of the motor is a main problem for control of PMLSM. This paper give a solution for this problem. The approach based on linear Hall device, without increase in the cost, simple installation and the results meet to the requirement. It will help to reduce the harmonics if add DC/DC power electronics circuit to the DC side of the main circuit. Since traditional embedded software have some disadvantages, this paper supply a software design based on embedded RTOS software.Finally tests be done on the sample motor and the controller, analyzed the results and presented the problems and the next step forward.
