A new aircraft systems-built pneudraulic (pneumatic and hydraulic) launcher, called Vertical Eject Launcher (VEL), was discussed in this paper.Firstly, based on the worldwide research activities, a three-dimensional digital model of VEL was established in UG as a concept and early design, and its kinetic sketch was set up.Secondly, the kinematics performance of the VEL is analyzed, mathematical model was built up to express the kinematics and dynamics of the VEL, kinematics formula of the VEL was founded using manner of equivalent dynamics model, A program was exploited to solve the formula with MATLAB.Key length of he VEL was gained basing optimal design under MATLAB with classical optimal theory and design need.Based on the prototyping technology, integrated VEL under development was modeled with UG and analyzed with ADAMS, ANSYS. Performance of kinematical and dynamic characteristics of the VEL were simulated. Mathematical model of the whole working process of the VEL was established to integrate the simulation processed.Finally, based on MATLAB/API and the second development of UG, an interfaced application program was exploited with VC to connect the result of optimal design and three-dimensional model; the geometry model in UG can been updated directly while the program be run.The research in this paper provided some valuable conclusions and simulation approach for the design and experiment of the new VEL, which can effectively reduce the manufacturing periods and cost of the system.
