| Based in the history and basic principles of screw compressor, this paper systematically studies, analyses and develops a new semi-hermetic screw compressor with a pair of speed increase gears and a new water chiller with the new compressor. After describing the SCORPATH software in detail, it optimizes the compressor rotor profile design and computes the rotor tool profile with the software. In the rotor design, it makes a detailed calculation for all the geometry feature parameters including geometry dimensions, contact line length, blowhole area and flow cross-section area and the thermodynamic feature parameters such as cooling capacity, shaft power and so on.In the compressor construction design, it makes a all-around description and design for the geometry of the compressor's every part such as suction and discharge ports etc, the dynamic features such as rotor stress etc, bearing's selection, strength check and so on. In the water chiller, it comprehensively describes the system principles and the function of every component. Furthermore, it makes an overall analysis about the series of compressors and units, each main performance level, construction features, application of peculiar material and the quality comparison with the oversea similar products. A lot of figures and tables are used to make a visual description of various constructions and processes. It is the first time in China to set the speed increase gears form in the new compressor and to adopt several new techniques including the condenser with oil-separator built-in, jet exhauster and electrical expansion valve used to supply liquid for the flooded evaporator in the unit.The paper provides a set of entire design principle about the semi-hermetic screw compressor and water chiller. |
