Screw chiller is widely used in central air-conditioning system. As abnormalglobal climate change intensifies, energy saving and environmental protection hasbecome a national consensus.More and more manufacturer turn to the development offlooded type chiller for its higher efficiency.Based on the product development of flooded type screw chiller in company, thispaper discussed the analysis, study and testing in all design aspects, focusing onimproving the energy efficiency of products to achieve the goals of energy saving andenvironmental protection.R134a is a kind of environmental protective refrigerant fit for large chiller inair-conditioning.The compressor is made by world-famous brand company and the series isoptimized for the condition of flooded type chiller. The evaporator is flooded type andhigh-performance enhanced tube are applied in all of heat exchangers. Control systemuse automatic controller and electronic expansion valve. All these lead the efficiencyof system to a higher level.In order to solve the key problem of oil reclaim in flooded screw chiller, acombined method is designed. First, a high-efficient oil separator is applied to limitthe amount of oil brought into the system. For the oil in system, a part is carried bysuction flow and the other is reclaimed through an ejector. This design is proved cankeep the balance of oil circulation.The prototype is approved by testing and the design of oil reclaim is available.
