Beamforming Algorithm

Adaptive Beamforming is one of the most popular questions in the sonar signal processing field. The adaptive receiving array can not only control itself to gain the signal and divide it from the noise when the directions of signal and noise are different, but also confirm the direction of the signal with the existence of noise. The main research work in this dissertation is organized as follows: In chapter one the history and the basic idea of adaptive beamforming was introduced. Next, in chapter two, the model of signal and model of array were introduced. In chapter three of this paper, the conventional beamforming algorithms were discussed. A large number of computer simulations were coducted for the conventional beamforming algorithms. In chapter four, A large number of computer simulations were coducted on the base of analyses of a few adaptive algorithms. An improvement of MVDR algorithm was done and got the revised MVDR algorithm. Then simulated it through the computer.
