| Cable dome, developed in recent twenty years, is one new kind of large span structure. With its novel shape and ingenious design, cable dome can use steel's tensional strength efficiently. So it has attracted great attention since it comes into being. Today, there are many engineering examples of cable domes in America, south Korea, Mexico, Taipei and so on. As well, Japan, France and Germany are dedicated to studying this system. In China, many scholars have researched on its static and dynamic behavior. However, so far there is no application of this dome in our country because of many reasons. Work of this paper tries to set up a reference for its application by designing a Geiger type dome.With looking up much foreign literature and some valuable thesis written by Chinese researchers, the thesis described history and present situation of cable dome at first. Then the characters and merits of the dome were summarized.Considering the high nonlinear feature of cable dome, the second part of this paper first established its finite element equation. Secondly, the stiffness matrix of two-node link and beam elements were deduced. Thirdly, the advantages and disadvantages of nonlinear equation group are analyzed.The third part of this paper introduced the roof design of a swimming pool. The design of cable dome is divided into three parts: pre-stressed calculation, static load applied calculation and variation load applied calculation. ANSYS software was adopted to compute the structure. The ANSYS program has many analysis capabilities, ranging from structural analysis, thermal analysis, electromagnetic field analysis to CFD FLOTRAN Analysis. It can be widely used in nucleus domain, architecture domain and so on. By ANSYS software, the fourth part of this paper analyzed the static characters of the cable dome.The technological cruxes of cable dome are structural calculation, node design and pre-stress producing. As all parts of the cable dome areconnected by node, node design is a critical problem in cable dome design. We must insure that the node is safe enough to connect all parts. The pre-stress producing of cable dome is also an important problem because of its close relation to construction process. The fifth part of this paper introduced all node kinds and the construction process.In the thesis, the author tries to accomplish the whole design process of the cable dome. I hope this thesis can do effect on the promotion to realize and spread this new kind of structure in China. |
