Yangtze River Delta Region Residence Suitability Of The Optimization Study

The climate is closely relevant with the people's lives and work and it affects the architecture style of the certain areas. As a building type of the most abundant amount,the houses reflect the local climate characters directly. It has been a focused issue of the researchers and the architects that how to create houses that are adapted to the local natural environment,embody the traditional culture,use the technologies appropriate to the local economy,technology and customs and provide the comfort,healthy,energy-saving and economic living environment.In this thesis,on the base of analyses of climate-oriented architectural designs on the world nowadays,the walls and the roofs of the houses in the Yangtze Delta are discussed. The traditional architectural technologies and building materials are integrated with the modern technologies and optimized to create the appropriate technologies for the houses in this area where the rain is plenty and the weather is cold in winter and hot in summer. We hope that the content in this thesis would be useful in the reconstruction of the old houses and the building of the new houses in the Yangtze Delta.
