When conducting the experiment of detecting the diesel engine in the locomotive, we used to use the unit meter to inspect and show the status parameters then record and analyze them. This method is not only wasting the labor, but also wasting the time and there is error which makes the judging result become not objective and effective. It is dangerous to the safety of the railway. In order to solve these problems, on the base of analyzing the related datum, according to the special instance of China, the writer study and explore a system which use the computer as the core processing unit. The degree of its automatization is very high. This system has some characteristics: in the part of the hard ware we use the personal computer as the core processing unit provided with the advanced BH5O 16 A/D analog to digital board and BH5200 impulse counting board as the main components to collecting the data and in the part of the soft ware, this system is based on the Windows operating system and is compiled by use of the popular computer language-Visual Basic. Otherwise it uses the fuzzy theory to help judging the status of the diesel engine and uses the engine power, fuel consumption rate, temperature of the exhaustion and the speed of the diesel or the supercharge air pressure and other parameters to evaluate it抯 integer performance. When choosing the hard and soft ware, we think over the experiment environment of the diesel engine sufficiently then adopt a series of effective measures to promise the precision and veracity and the ability to anti-jamming. The simple manipulation, advanced diagnose theory and the exact inspecting results, all of which make this system become the perfect system to inspecting dynamically and diagnosing the diesel engine. It has biggish utility value.
