Based on the existing results, the durability of corroded R.C. members withflexural and compressive axial loads is studied in this thesis. The researchmainly includes the following respects: Firstly, hysteretic characteristicsof corroded R.C. members with flexural and compressive axial loads are put toexperiment and analyzed under slowly applied lateral load reversals. Throughthe experiment the influence of corrosion on the bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility and energy dissipation of these corroded R.C. members are discussed.Hysteretic and skeleton curye for these corroded R.C members are obtained.Secondly, the influential factors for mechanic properties of these corrodedR.C. members are discussed. The corrosion mechanism of reinforcement, thedamage mechanism of concrete and the bond loss between the reinforcement andconcrete are studied. Thirdly, theoretical analysis of bearing capacity ofthese corroded R.C. members is conducted. According to the analysis, acalculating formula for the shearing strength and a calculating method forflexural strength of these corroded R.C. members are suggested.
