The modern residence, as a concept of time-limited residential areas, with a very strong history of ductility. In a short 100 years, modern residential collection of traditional culture and foreign cultures essence, which presents us with a beautiful chapter .Wenchang modern residence is an important part of Hainan modern residence. It has a distinct historical and cultural features, which closed in the open courtyard outside showing the pattern of a strong sense of spatial order. At a deeper level, reflects the era of socio-economic status of residential construction, in particular, reflects the blend of different cultures brought about cultural changes, reflected in modern houses in the Wenchang followed the traditional culture, while compatible with the south of Fujian , Lingnan culture and the culture of southeast Asia and other foreign culture, with a rich cultural connotations. Wenchang cultural heritage of modern residential, is a cultural, historical, artistic value, a valuable resource, is a unique cultural monuments .This paper used the literature, comparative study of methods such as focus on local culture from to analyze modern residential space conguration characteristics of Wenchang. And with a comparative analysis of residence in southern Fujian , trace the modern residential factors of the development and its unique architectural culture. The author analysis some great examples with local cultural characteristics and Nanyang style modern residence of Wenchang by case study method , aimed at strengthening the Wenchang modern residential distinctive characteristics and independence.
