Research On Rule-based Computer Wargame System Technology

Wargame, as a traditional warfare simulation method, has achieved great success in the western during the developing process of about two hundred years. Since early 80's last century, computer wargame based on computer technology, network technology has further promoted the development of wargame. With time going, at present our nation has gradually changed from the former sand-table exercise to the western wargame based computer warfare simulation method which is supported by military operational research and computing models. Due to late start, there are some research and application problems, such as"One War One Game"and the low level of artificial intelligence of human-computer confrontation, etc. Here"One War One Game"means close coupling between wargame umpire rule and application system, which impede the rule share and interoperation among different wargame systems.Aiming to solve the above problems, based on analyzing the characteristics of wargane, this paper designs a wargame system model, proposes an umpire rule description method and CGF system framework to support behavior modeling, discusses a fuzzy and uncertain decision method to deal with the fog of war, and at last implemetnts a computerized wargame based on"Future: Korea War"paper wargame and the above research work.Our contributions can be mainly concluded as follows:(1)Analyse the component factors of wargame. Take"Future: Korea War"as an example, detailed illuminate the three main elements of this wargame: map, units and rules.(2)Establish the computer logic structure model and class model based on the above analyse of wargame factor features. Describe the wargame umpire rule with CLIPS expert system language and use CLIPS reasoning engine to conduct reasoning. The benefit of using CLIPS is that users could edit umpire rules in the text document without recompilation of the application software. It enhances the flexibility and expansibility of wargame.(3)Propose a wargame CGF system framework based on multi-agents. For the single agent, describe the behavior model of sensing, decision and action. Besides, analyse the finite feature of wargame CGF atomic action, and define the Atomic Action Library (AAL).(4)Propose a fuzzy uncertain multi-attribute decision method with incomplete information based on fuzzy set and D-S evidence theory to deal with the decision under circumstance of fog of war. The method advances the fuzzy uncertain problem managing capability of CGF agent.(5)Design and implement the"Future: Korea War"wargame system based on the wargame system logic structure model, class model, CLIPS rule description method, CGF system framework and single agent behavior model discussed in this paper. The"Future: Korea War"wargame system adds the organized director role besides red and blue players, and primarily realizes the confrontation between wargamer and CGF agent.
