In order to meet the nation's request of heavy equipment and key engineering today gear drive is developing in a rapid pace to the way of high speed, high load and low noise. Heavy mechanical driving system is the base of heavy mechanical equipment, it has been playing an extreme role in national economic construct and defense for a long time, its performance can have direct influence on multiple qualities and life of heavy machines, gear box for heavy gas turbine is one of the representative equipments. It's very important to national economy and social development to find out how to study gear box of heavy gas turbine, improve the technique for heavy machine, promote national gear manufacturing technic and upgrade the international competitive abilities in the field of gear drive and other relational accessory.In the paper the steady state conduction of heavy combustion engine herringbone gears is analyzed. Parameter model of gears is carried out by parametric design language. A numerical simulation is given to calculate contact stress field and steady thermal field by combining heat transfer theory and tribology theory and mesh theory. The steady thermal field distribution laws of the gear are carried out. The high-speed shafting and low-speed shafting transverse horizontal vibration modes are obtained by analyzing the rotor dynamics of shafting in the gear box. The results indicate that the design can evasive major dynamic deflection and obvious resonance. The load capacity and reliability of the critical components are calculated, this can be a theoretic foundation of the design development of gear box. To obtain the laws of displacement distribution and the stress distribution a method of finite element is used to analyze the dynamic and static and earthquake influence on the gear box structure. The result is a theoretical foundation of verifying the reasonableness and reliability of the gear box structure. A method of testing and evaluating the gas turbine gear box is also showed.
