The rapidly growth in national economic is imposing higher requirement on electric power construction. High voltage direct current power transmittion is playing an important role in energy resources untilization and applying to long distance and high capacity overhead power transimittion because of its characteristics including lower cost , smaller energy lose, as well as, faster adjustment and better operation reliability. Double DC Circuit on the Same Tower has enjoyed the above mentioned advantages as those of sigle direct current circuits'. Besides, it also helps to slove the problem between the increasing electricity consumption and reduction in land resources, imporving the electricity ransmission capacity of per unit area.The environmental impact of the transmission line is the most striking issue with the continuous economic development and public awareness of environment. The environmental problem of the transmission line is one of the most important fctors which can determine the transmittion line structure and its construction fee. The environmental problem arising form the transmission line includes electric field effect, magnetic field effect, audible noise and radio interference. They are also the major technical problems for transmittion power.engineering, construction and operation.The maximum electric field strength on wire surface of double DC Circuit on the Same Tower, electric field intensity at the ground and ion current density, audible noise and radio interference calculations are analyzed in this paper according to the practical engineering situations and the characteristic of DC transimission line. Double DC circuit arrangement is recommended and the minimum ground clearance is determined to provide technical support for engineering.
