In this paper, the biological agent for the treatment of beryllium-containing is developed, and the technological process was also studied. The main results and achievement are shown as follows:It has been proved that the project called "column to pond" is suitable for the beryllium-containing wastewater treatment in ShuiKouShan. The pond for bioreaction and precipitation was set up to replace the series column. Pilot experiment was conducted for 10 days, the results showed that the concentrations of heavy metals such as Be, Pb, As, Cd in the effluent meet the state standard (GB8978-1996) with 400g/m3 of biological agent, specifically. Be≤0.005mg/L, Pb≤1.0mg/L, As≤0.5 mg/L, Cd≤0.1mg/L.The results from industrialization application show that as for wastewater containing 26.43~73542μg/L of beryllium can be treated by biological agent. Beryllium in the effluent can be decreased to 2.6μg/L, meet the state standard. The cost of biological agent was dependent on the concentration of beryllium in the wastewater, i.e. The cost for beryllium concentration below 1 mg/L was 0.825Yuan/m3; the cost of 1.25Yuan/m3 was required for beryllium concentration ranged 1~10mg/L. For the treatment of 300m3/d wastewater in ShuiKouShan, the cost of biological agent is not more than 100,000Yuan annually.
