Safety, the eternal theme in the process of human survival and development, is one of the main issues concerned by the people in nowadays and in the future. To some extent, the development of human society can be viewed as a history of struggling to solve safety problems. Man is the most active factor in productivity. Among various causes of the accidents, human insecurity is an important one.To ensure improving safety and preventing accidents,we must in time correct the negative psychology and all kinds of illegal behavior which lead to insecurity.Safety Psychology is a science that studies man's mental activities such as safety needs, security awareness and responses carried out with the relationships among the production tools,working environment, machinery, equipment and operators in the working process.Safety Psychology studies have shown that people's psychological problems have become an important factor affecting safety in production. Enterprise leaders and safety managers must adhere to the "people-oriented" management principles,learn Safety Psychology, grasp the law of employees'psychological changes, and solve the mental problems in view of the individual's situation, turning the negative emotions into positive attitudes.Only in this way can we truly reduce and eliminate insecurity factors.Based on a large number of reference books and the relevant theoretical research results, the author conducts the research from the following five aspects:(1)The article deals with the analysis of the safety production situation in China over the past decade.Then it points out that the reason for the frequent occurrence of the accidents and the difficulties of prevention lie not only in the technology and the management problem, but also in the lacking of security awareness.The article states the relationship between the Safety Science and Psychology, focusing on the psychological factors in the accidents. (2) To explain and supplement Safety Psychology with psychological intervention, including its definition, study object, production and development, and the tasks and significance of the research.(3)Using psychological methodology system for reference, the author sums up the system of Safety Psychology methodology and put forward three kinds of new research methods.(4)The paper focuses on studying the application of Safety Psychology in safety management respectively from three aspects: person's psychological training and safety education prior to the accident, analysis of human error models during the accident and human psychological intervention after the accident. And the author puts forward the necessity and importance of psychological intervention after the accident.(5)In the end, the author analyzes the serious "April 28th's accident" on Jiaoji railway through Safety Psychology theories as a living example to expound and prove the thesis of the paper.Doing research of Safety Science should be pragmatic,integrated theory with practice, combined of hardware and software and of enterprise management and safety management. Through the study the author hopes to supplement and improve the system of Safety Science in theory, and to reinforce the theoretical basis guiding modern safety management. Safety managers should be able to find out the psychological motivation behind the accident and innovate the safety education methods, in order to take preventive measures to reduce accident rate and ensure the safety of human, and weaken mentality hurt after the accident, thus enhance the development of the Safety Science discipline and undertaking in the long run.
