With the development and application of the antibacterial viscose fiber,more and more problems are found out.Firstly,how is the mechanical property of antibacterial viscose fibers,compared with the rayon viscose,the strength of antibacterial viscose fiber is increased or decreased.Secondly,how are the moisture sorption characteristics and the effect of alkali treatment to the moisture sorption characteristics of the antibacterial viscose fiber is unknown.Thirdly,the bacteria repellency and the effect of alkali treatment to the bacteria repellency of the antibacterial viscose fiber is also should be studied.Because the research on the antibacterial viscose fiber is simple and not perfect,the main researchers in this paper are as follows:1,The mechanical property of antibacterial viscose fiber:The tensile property,the relaxation property at constant elongation and the mechanical model are discussed in this paper.2,The moisture sorption characteristics of the antibacterial viscose fiber:The moisture sorption characteristics and the effect of alkali treatment to the moisture sorption characteristics of the antibacterial viscose fiber are studied in this paper.The results are compared with the rayon viscose.3,The bacteria repellency of the antibacterial viscose fiber:The relation between the bacteria repellency and the blended ratio of antibacterial viscose fiber/cotton blended yarn and the effect of the alkali treatment to the bacteria repellency are also analyzed in this paper.By this study,several effective results and conclusions have been obtained.1,In dry and wet state,the breaking strength and the break elongation of the antibacterial viscose are smaller than that of the ordinary viscose.Knotted and looped modalities decrease fiber tenacity remarkably,and the same occurs with elongation at break and the initial module.In knotted state,the initial module,the breaking strength,the break elongation and break work is 72.5%,78.1%,44.8%and 13.2%of that in straight state and in loop state those is 80%,68.0%,22.3%and 5.3%respectively.The plastic strain rate and the elastic recovery rate of antibacterial viscose fiber are smaller than the ordinary viscose.2,Through alkaline treatment,The moisture absorption regain of antibacterial viscose is greater and the moisture liberation regain is smaller than that of the ordinary antibacterial viscose.The general rate of absorption of antibacterial viscose rayon fibers after alkali treatment is very close to ordinary viscose fiber,after alkali treatment the wet release rate of antibacterial viscose is less than ordinary viscose fiber.3,With the increase of the blended ratio of antibacterial viscose fiber,the anti-bacterial properties of antibacterial viscose/cotton blended yarn increases.When the blended ratio of antibacterial viscose fiber is 50%,the anti-bacterial properties of antibacterial viscose/cotton blended yarn increases significantly;The anti-bacterial properties of the antibacterial viscose/cotton blended yarn to the E. coli is better than to the Staphylococcus bacterium.The concentration in alkali processing is of significance to the anti-bacterial properties of the antibacterial viscose,when the concentration range of NaOH is from 0%to 15%,the inhibition of antimicrobial viscose fiber decreased.With the increase of the time and the temperature in alkali treatment the inhibition of antibacterial viscose decreases.
