With the development of produce technology, some of the mechanical equipments, which belong to the enterprises in our nation, are fell behind the current technique. It is meaningful to reconstruct the leisure machines into Special machines.The special machine tools for shaft parts' research and design is in the field of "reconstruction of machine technique" . This topic came from the project of XinWei oil nozzle & oil pump Cop., Nantong, Jiangsu, which is also a research project of our University. In the production of end plane and center hole of shaft from general machine tool, there are three problems: low efficiency, bad identity of hole depth and necessity of high level technology for operator. Through the technical reform on mechanical drive system and electric control system of a common lathe, the lathe main drive system brings along two tools to realize main body movement. PLC controls the two stepping motors to drive workpieces double feed, an idles old common lathe is refit into a special equipment to process end face and center hole by using numerical controlled technique.The special machine of reconstruction improved the precision of producing parts and the degree of automatization, which got a high productivity. It has more advantages, such as low investment, quick return, less reconstructions, less time that need to assembling and debugging, high utilization ratio of old machine and easy recovery to origin. All of these are very important to machining equipments.
