Lathe bed is the foundation of the machine tool parts, it is an installed base of other parts, but also the geometry benchmark of machine tool mention, and the machining accuracy of machine tool plays a decisive influence on the machine performance. The total length of long lathe bed about heavy machine is generally more than20m, it is affected by the accuracy of processing equipment,tool wear, detection methods and other factors,it is difficult to guarantee the high precision requirements of long lathe bed in less processing times, and at the same time the process stability is bad, efficiency is low. Therefore, combining the actual capacity of the current domestic processing equipment, put forward a new processing method, and to develop a scientific, reasonable manufacturing process scheme, can effectively guarantee the quality of extra-long lathe bed, but also can improve production efficiency.Wuhan Heavy Duty Machine Tool Group Limited Company has production experience with many years and a good research foundation in the production of extra-long lathe bed about heavy machine manufacturing, this paper carried out research aspects of the manufacturing process to improve the quality of extra-long lathe bed of WUZHONG Group. Through the key technical analysis and research in the extra-long lathe bed manufacturing process, this paper made the following several aspects:first, introduced current traditional copying planning methods of extra-long lathe bed about heavy machine, pointed out the deficiency of this processing method, and proposed new ideas and methods about extra-long lathe bed to improve the quality and efficiency of processing; second, to analyze the extra-long lathe bed of heavy machine material, structural characteristics and accuracy requirements, designed reasonable process route, from all aspects as casting, aging treatment, processing, testing, proposed specific technical requirements for manufacturing of the lathe bed of the extra-long lathe bed, which can be very good ensure accuracy and stability of the extra-long lathe bed; third, to consider and study some difficult problems which exist in the new method of extra-long lathe bed, proposed solutions of the difficult problems, and applied these methods to the extra-long lathe bed of DL250(a heavy duty horizontal lathe) manufacturing process, to guarantee the accuracy of the machine tool bed meet the design requirements, and the machining efficiency is improved than the original machine, through the example, it has been proved efficiency and superiority about manufacturing process of extra-long lathe bed of heavy machine which is proposed in this paper.
