The oil terminal, as a department of energy consumption, under the normal conditions, adjusting run parameter rationally is the aim of this study to save energy. Firstly it introduced the current state of the use of energy and the study of the energy saving methods in and out of abroad. Then through the diagnoses of Qinhuangdao crude oil terminal, the study focuses on the type, the structure, the principle of their heat conduction of the steam ductwork and the heat medium heater system, then gives the calculation methods of the parameters and makes the calculate program. The study of energy saving run includes three parts: steam ductwork, heat medium heater system and heat energy consumptions under different operations on oil tanks. A mathematical modal of the total steam system is to estimate the mass flux of any part. For different operations on the oil tanks, the requirements of heat energy are different. According to the modals established as before work out the relevant fuel consumptions. Then compare the numbers of the fuel supply in different operations in order to sort out the minimum one of fuel supplies, and the relevant combination of different operations is the best. And give out the interrelated software to complete above functions. Accordingly, the modals have been validated by the results of calculating the locale data with above modals. So the result may give a reference to the local operations.
