Wastewater Produced in Saponin of Dioscorea zingiberensis Productive Process whose components are complex contains much non-biodegradable sapogenin and surface activated matter, with puce color and high degree of acidity. The wastewater belongs to organic industrial wastewater of high concentration. In response to the characteristics of this wastewater quality, the present treatment situation and problems, on base of investigation and exploratory bench-test, the study has proven its assumption, summarizes the biodegradability, the reaction mechanism and typical microbe of the adopted biological treatment process, that is the kinetics of A-stage treatment and the process and technological parameters of A-B process. The research results manifest: operating on low DO (0~0.5mg/l), HRT=lh in A stage; operating on high DO (2.0~3.5mg/l), HRT=6h in B stage, the good result can be gained Especially, that the residual sludge of the B stage reactor (2% of inflow) are recycled to the A stage reactor with microbe types of the A stage not being changed can greatly increase the efficiency of removal of nitrogen, thus reach the further removal of nitrogen and phosphorous. After the treatment, the final removal ratios of CODcr, BOD5, SS, T%, are 83.9%, 93.7%, 87.3%, and 90.6% respectively, and the quality of nitrogen and phosphorous reach the first grade in the sewage complex discharge standard of the state (GB8978-1996). Besides, A-B process for treatment processes characters such as imporoving biodegradability, operating stably, manipulating simply and low operation investment expense and so on.The research conclusion provides necessarily process operating parameters, reasonable technological plan for A-B process for treatment of the wastewater, and has great significance to preserve the sustainable development of dioscorea zingiberensis industrial economy and environment, at the same time to make the South- to-North water diversion engineering go on wheels. According to the documents and literatures, A-B process for treatment of the wastewater isn't found at home&abroad so far, so the great deal of primary experimental data and corresponding parameters in this paper can be referred for further study of A-B process for treatment of such wastewater.
