Nowadays, in the community , mould industry has become one of the important basic industry in the national economy . In our country, the design and manufacture of the plastic mould chiefly are depending on the experience of the designer and technique of the technologist. Only passing mould test can we know the rationality of the design and the quality of the products. As a result, it makes longer circle and higher cost. But applying computer aided engineer (CAE) can improve the level of the design of the plastic mould and the quality of the products.The CAE technology for the injection mould simulates the injection process, including filling, packing, cooling and warpage analysis. Simulation analysis could predict the defects of the products, such as short shot, weld lines, air traps and warpage deflection. Besides, it could determine location and amount of the gate, and injection pressure, injection time, temperature change of flow front, shear stress, shear rate, etc.This paper sets about the content, method, development of the CAE technology. Then, a brief introduction is made on the principle of filling analysis, cooling analysis, warpage analysis. And it narrates the use and function of MPI(Moldflow Plastics Insight) .This paper emphases on analyzing filling, packing, cooling and warpage in the course of the injection moulding process of six plastic products, and predicting the possible defects. It has been validated that the results of simulation are identical with practice production.In allusion to appeared defects, it optimizes simulation analysis and determines reasonable technologic parameters by changing material, technologic condition, equipment, etc. The simulation ?analysis administers to practice production, such as reducing the times of moldingtest and molding mend, shorting circle of the design and manufacture of mold, falling the cost of production.
