Coal mine development is a complex engineering project. Especially, modern unde rground mine construction is larger and more complex than normal building constructio n. Underground mine construction has longer early investment and payback period than normal building construction. Moreover, there are many unforeseen circumstances and s ecurity problems, and big investment risks in underground mine construction. Therefore, construction management design is essential for underground mine construction. Its re quirements on construction control and management are also stringent. The passive Fee d Back Control was often used in coal mine construction projects in the past, which alw ays leads to half the results with twice the effort. Therefore, a good construction design t hat can well organize all construction elements before the start of a construction project is significant. This can guarantee the construction activities are scientific and efficient. So that the objectives of safe, high efficiency, high quality, low consumption and civiliz ed production can be reached. This paper presents a method of construction management design that is suitable fo r the project based on the basic theory and principles of construction organization desig n and the geological conditions and goals of Qinglongsi Coal Mine. First, a guide line fo r construction management design is made on the product life-cycle management of the project of construction unit. This includes preparation, cost, quality, orientation, goals, p rinciples, overall planning and deployment, and progress control of construction. Then, a typical construction unit, subincline shaft, is takne as example to refine, design and pr ove the project.Through detailed analysis of Qinglongsi coal mine, this study affirms the importance this study presents further discussion in order to provide more useful references for the domestic coal projects mine construction design.
