Oil and gas are important energy, these energy can greatly promote the development of society. Oil and gas usually require long-distance transportation, pipeline transportation solved the problem. Along with the continuous development of science and technology, many countries in the world established a large amount of oil and gas pipelines, pipeline safety becomes very important, but the pipelines are very long and complicated, which brought difficulties for pipeline detection. This paper designes the oil and gas pipeline comprehensive data compression system to compress the pipeline data, then designes the 3D visualization of oil and gas pipeline deformation description system at the same time,simulating the 3D model of oil and gas pipeline, this system can directly detect the location of the pipe deformation.Firstly, we should process the pipeline data collected by the spacecraft. Because of the tremendous volume of pipeline data, we need to compresse the pipeline data first, for this reason, the oil and gas pipeline comprehensive data compression system was designed, this system is divided into two parts, one is hardware platform and the other is software platform. Hardware platform receives the deformation data of oil and gas pipeline from the software platform via a serial port, using run-length code to compress the deformation data of oil and gas pipeline, then sends the compressed data to the software platform through a serial port, the software platform will decompress the compressed oil and gas pipeline deformation data.Secondly, we design a 3D visualization of oil and gas pipeline deformation description system, using Open GL technology to simulate the 3D visualization model of the oil and gas pipeline, color changes will show the location of the oil and gas pipeline deformation, it can also observe the oil and gas pipeline from different angles.Finally, integrating the oil and gas pipeline comprehensive data compression system and the 3D visualization of oil and gas pipeline deformation description system, and then verify the integrated system can run normally.
